Mary Imana is from Eme-ora in Owan West Local Government Area. She is of the opinion that the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration has come to transform Edo State for good with its new education philosophies and programmes. “I am so happy by the way the teaching profession is now going. Our children always want to go to school because of the way they are now teaching. Teachers are also using computers to teach them. I think the Governor should also establish adult education centres in each community”, she noted. Mrs Imana stressed that despite her advancement in age, she is still ready to learn and better the society.
At Illushi Market in Esan South East Ubiaja, during one of the market sensitization exercises by the Social Mobilization Officers of Edo BEST, the market women applauded the transformation initiative of the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration in basic education; “We are very happy about what the Governor is doing in Education and we promise to inform others to always allow their children go to school because our children are our future”, Mrs Rose Okojie, one of the market women, noted.
speaking with Mr Reuben Onaghise, the father of Juliet Onaghise from Adesuwa Primary School Benin, who recently had a one-on-one interview with the Governor, he stressed that Edo BEST has assisted his daughter greatly in building confidence as well as in improving her reading and writing skills. “I was surprise that my daughter can stand before Governor and discus with Governor and other personalities”, Sunday Onaghise noted.
It is the desire of the Obaseki administration that pupils of public primary schools in the State are able to compete with their counterparts from any part of the world. This is why the administration has embarked on its transformation drive at the basic education subsector leveraging on technology and other modern forms of pedagogy.
