H.E. Governor Godwin Obaseki, launched two campaigns on the 1st of March 2021, at the Stakeholders Forum event organised by the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, in a bid to further strengthen ongoing reforms in the Basic Education Sub-sector.
The campaigns are:
1. PARENTS FIRST; an initiative to strengthen parental support of their children’s scholastic endeavors as well as deepen their involvement in the activities of their children’s school.
2. LET’S GO TO SCHOOL; an enrollment drive campaign to increase enrollment and enhance retention. Whereas Edo has the least number of out of school children in the country, even though Nigeria has the highest number of out of school children in the World, Gov. Obaseki still believes that we can do more to bring more children to school while also eliminating “Learning Poverty” in Edo state.
